Today is September 1st, even though still a few weeks away from the first day of fall this year ( September 22nd), the cool weather with the clear sky made me feel that the summer was left behind long ago. (I just got back from Japan a couple of days ago, and it was still over 90 degrees with high humidity on my last day of stay. I guess I completely missed the slow transition from two different seasons).
That being said, I am so excited about starting a new academic year, meeting new people through music whether it is performing or teaching, as well as catching up with my all time favorite performer fellows and students what we have missed over the summer.
I will start the new teaching sessions in a heartbeat, and the next month is waiting for me to perform with brass players at Don Winston and Friends.
